Planet X

A hypothetical major planet in the solar system lying beyond the orbit of Pluto. The "X" can be construed as representing either the unknown or a Roman ten. The discovery of a population of small planetary bodies in the region beyond Neptune, constituting the Kuiper Belt, suggests that it is very unlikely, on both theoretical and observational grounds, that such a major planet exists.
